Points West performed topographic and boundary surveying for the design of the City of Fortuna’s water distribution system. Interconnections between different pressure zones were studied along with two new reservoir locations. Points West established GPS control over the 3 square mile project area and located key locations and elevations for water system modeling. GPS Surveys were supplemented by conventional surveying techniques to determine reservoir and water tower elevations. Ground mapping was performed in the areas where interconnection was proposed to determine private property boundaries, topographic constraints, and geographic location of existing facilities. Easement documents have been prepared for new water line routes.
